Job Description:

Our client is seeking an SAP Commodity Pricing Engine (CPE) Consultant to partner with a major oil and gas customer to optimize their SAP S/4HANA commodity pricing capabilities. Our client aims to streamline complex pricing processes for volatile energy markets, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in their trading and procurement operations.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP (SD) pricing, Commodity Management (CM), and related modules, with multiple full life cycle CPE implementations in the oil and gas industry. This role requires hands-on experience in dynamic commodity pricing and a proven ability to deliver tailored solutions under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure the SAP Commodity Pricing Engine (CPE) to support dynamic pricing for oil and gas commodities (e.g., crude oil, natural gas, petrochemicals) using market quotations
Design and implement complex pricing formulas, condition types, and rules using BRF+ and SAP formula repositories to handle surcharges, discounts, averaging periods, and currency conversions.
Integrate CPE with SAP S/4HANA modules, including Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), and Commodity Management (CM), to ensure accurate pricing across sales, procurement, and invoicing processes.
Set up and validate external market data feeds (e.g., Platts, Argus) for real-time and historical price quotations, ensuring seamless integration with SAP systems.
Gather requirements from key stakeholders and deliver CPE configurations that support complex oil and gas contracts, including futures and formula-based pricing.
Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate pricing accuracy and system performance.
Provide training and knowledge transfer to client teams on CPE configuration, formula maintenance, and issue resolution.
Troubleshoot pricing errors, market data integration issues, or performance bottlenecks, leveraging deep knowledge of S/4HANA logistics and pricing tables.
Document configurations, processes, and best practices to ensure long-term maintainability.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
7+ years of SAP functional consulting experience, with a focus on SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) and SAP Commodity Management (CM), including hands-on CPE configuration.
minimum 2 full life cycle SAP CPE implementations (blueprint to go-live) with at least two in the oil and gas industry
Proven expertise in configuring CPE for commodity pricing, including futures contracts, market-driven pricing, and averaging periods for energy products (e.g., crude oil, petrochemicals).
Strong experience integrating CPE with SAP Materials Management (MM) for procurement pricing and SAP S/4HANA Logistics for end-to-end processes.
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of CPE configuration, including pricing formulas, condition types, quotation tables, and BRF+ rules for dynamic pricing logic.
Proficiency in integrating market data feeds (e.g., Platts, OPIS) and managing pricing for volatile commodities.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for analytics or custom pricing apps.
Industry experience within the oil and gas sector.
Certification in SAP S/4HANA Sales, Commodity Management, or related modules.
