Job Title: Lead Java Developer
Location: Houston, TX
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Lead Java Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade Java applications, leading a team of developers, and ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and development processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of scalable and high-performance Java-based applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and system architecture.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level developers.
Perform code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the development lifecycle.
Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and apply them to improve development efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of Java development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of Java (8 or above), Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC), and REST APIs.
Experience with build tools like Maven or Gradle, and version control (Git).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Good understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and team leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Knowledge of microservices architecture.
Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Frontend development experience (e.g., Angular, React) is a plus.
