Network Engineer- Panorama Administration & Palo Alto Expert

This company is a hybrid multi-cloud and on-premises infrastructure strategy, leveraging AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform to support a diverse technology ecosystem. We're seeking a Network Engineer to play a key role in the design, deployment, and ongoing management of the company's hosting environments.

The company is located in Boston, MA and will remain 100% remote.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Design, test, and implement complex technical solutions-including hardware, software, and configuration standards-to address diverse business challenges with a focus on driving operational value.
  • Provide support and oversight for system and network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, computing, storage, and virtualization assets. Responsible for lifecycle management, upgrades, capacity planning, and managing high-priority incidents, changes, and problems.
  • Lead high-visibility and high-risk infrastructure changes, ensuring optimal system performance. Serve as the liaison between Technical Operations (TOps) and cross-functional teams including Engineering, Architecture, Information Security, and Production Support.
  • Partner with Engineering and Security teams to stay informed on upcoming TOps-related initiatives and communicate recurring issues that impact infrastructure operations.
  • Ensure the availability, performance, and stability of all Systems and Network Engineering components.
  • Align infrastructure solutions with organizational strategies and long-term business goals.
  • Coordinate appliance and software upgrades with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, network diagrams, and configurations.
  • Schedule and oversee preventative maintenance for critical infrastructure components.
  • Effectively manage multiple concurrent tasks and competing deadlines.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision, setting priorities and delivering results.
  • Promote and adhere to standard change management and configuration practices.
  • Apply sound judgment to proactively identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Work collaboratively with staff at all levels, including cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrate leadership and influence to drive outcomes and deliver value across the organization.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in Windows/Linux/Cloud environments.
  • 6+ YOE with enterprise-level system/network design and support.
  • Commitment to achieving 100% uptime.
  • Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama Administration. (Expertise required)
  • Juniper (preferred), Cisco, and/or HPE Aruba switches.
  • VLAN subnet design & implementation.
  • OSPF & BGP routing protocols.
  • VPN technologies including IPSec.
  • Enterprise Wireless technologies & solutions (Juniper preferred).
  • Network security concepts, including proper ACL planning/management, 802.1x and/or NAC solutions.
  • Various authentication technologies, including LDAP (Active Directory preferred) and RADIUS.
  • Bash/PowerShell/Perl/Python
  • Disaster Recovery planning and implementation.
  • Monitoring tools to identify potential failures and support forensic investigations.
  • AWS/Azure experience
