Job Title: Tool Technician
Location: Commercial Nuclear Power Generating Plants

Summary for Tool Technician:
System One is hiring Tool Technicians.

Pay for Tool Technician:
  • While mobilized, technicians will average:
  • 40 hours of straight time
  • 20-25 hours of overtime
  • Paid weekly
  • Per Diem
    Required Experiences for Tool Technician:
    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Clean background with no outstanding or pending charges
    • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening at times of hire and random
    • Valid driver's license with REAL ID endorsement or passport in place of REAL ID.
    • Mechanical inclination in personal or professional life.
    • Nuclear experience is a plus.

    Functions of a Tool Technician:
    • Work will occur in a nuclear power plant, which is radioactively controlled environment, primarily in the US with the potential of some international travel.
    • Training will be provided at the Mill Ridge Road (MRR) and Mount Athos Road (MAR) facilities. (1-2 weeks)
    • Baffle Bolt UT Inspection- Inspection of Baffle Bolts in the core plates of the cavity. Technicians will learn how to check out the tooling and install tooling into the cavity working from a bridge.
    • MRP 227 VT- Visual Inspections in the cavity using a Dual Cart Tool. Technicians will learn how to check out the tooling and install tooling into the cavity working from a bridge.
    • Vessel UT- Complex Automated UT Inspections in the cavity. Technicians will learn how to check out the tooling and install tooling into the cavity working from a bridge.
    • MRP 227 GRGT- Visual Inspection of the Control Rod Guide Tubes looking for wear using an automated tool. Technicians will learn how to check out the tooling and install tooling into the cavity working from a bridge.

    Physical Demands of a Tool Technician:
    • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
    • Must be able to work in heightened periods of time
    • Must be able to carry 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to pull, lift, carry, climb as required for the job.
    • Must be able to work in a confined space
    • Must be able to work in high heating environments.
