IT Infrastructure Project Manager
Location: Hybrid - Must reside in Hawaii
Department: IT / Infrastructure

Position Summary
At TEKsystems we are working with an organization seeking a highly capable and technically astute IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead and coordinate a portfolio of 40-50 concurrent infrastructure projects along with future projects. This role requires a deep understanding of IT systems, particularly networking, and the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics while keeping projects on track and stakeholders aligned.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a high volume of infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and alignment with business goals.
  • Leverage deep technical knowledge to guide project planning, risk assessment, and execution-especially in networking and systems infrastructure.
  • Work across diverse teams, including those with conflicting priorities, to drive consensus and maintain momentum.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for stakeholders, helping to organize and prioritize initiatives based on business impact and resource availability.
  • Anticipate and manage political challenges within the organization, maintaining professionalism and objectivity.
  • Take a hands-on approach to creating and maintaining clear, comprehensive project documentation, including plans, timelines, and status reports.
  • Hold team members and stakeholders accountable for deliverables, while maintaining a reasonable and empathetic leadership style.
  • Collaborate with a capable technical team responsible for the physical implementation of infrastructure projects.
  • Continuously refine project management processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Required Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Master's degree or other advanced education in a relevant discipline is a plus.
  • Certifications:
    • Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification required.
    • ITIL, CompTIA Network+, or other infrastructure-related certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of project management experience in IT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on networking.
    • Proven success managing a large portfolio of simultaneous projects.
    • Experience working in hybrid environments and coordinating distributed teams.
    • Experience in K-12 education environments is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical acumen and ability to engage with complex IT systems.
    • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
    • Proficiency in project management and documentation tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint).

Work Environment
  • Hybrid Role: This position requires a mix of remote and on-site work. Candidates must be located in Hawaii and available for in-person meetings and site visits as needed.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
