Duration:
12+ month contract

Rate: $50-$60 an hour W2



Shift details:


Onsite in Alpharetta, GA (no remote work)

Monday - Friday, 08AM- 5PM Eastern Time


Description:


Our client is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Automation Engineer to define and drive the strategy, architecture, and implementation of automation solutions for hardware and software setup. This role involves architecting and building robust automation frameworks leveraging Python, PowerShell, Ansible, and other modern scripting tools across Linux and Windows environments. You will integrate and automate workflows with platforms and technologies such as GreenLake, Aruba Central, Morpheus, VMware, and Proxmox, enabling efficient, scalable, and innovative infrastructure provisioning and management.


Responsibilities: We are looking for a fast-learning, innovative, and organized team player to lead automation initiatives in our state-of-the-art remote training lab. Responsibilities include:


  • Architecting, developing, and maintaining automation solutions for provisioning, configuring, and supporting hardware/software infrastructure.

  • Leading the adoption of new automation technologies and best practices, including integration with platforms like GreenLake, Aruba Central, Morpheus, VMware, and Proxmox.

  • Collaborating with engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable solutions.

  • Designing and implementing scripts, tools, and frameworks (primarily in Python, PowerShell, and Ansible) to automate repetitive tasks and complex workflows.

  • Documenting automation processes, standards, and architecture.

  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to other engineers.

  • Supporting ongoing delivery and production environments through automation.

  • Ensuring smooth transitions from manual to automated processes.


Knowledge and Skills:


  • Advanced proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and Ansible for scripting and automation.

  • Strong experience with Linux (RHEL/Debian) and Windows environments.

  • Familiarity with HPE GreenLake, Aruba Central, Morpheus, VMware, and Proxmox platforms.

  • Solid understanding of HPE servers, networking, and storage technologies.

  • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, etc.) and distributed systems.

  • Ability to architect and implement automation solutions for hardware/software setup.

  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus.


Requirements:


  • Proven experience in automation engineering, systems administration, or DevOps roles - required

  • Advanced Python and PowerShell programming skills - required

  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems - required

  • Experience automating hardware and software provisioning - required

  • Familiarity with HPE GreenLake, Aruba Central, Morpheus, VMware, and Proxmox - desired

  • Experience with managed network switches and storage technologies - desired

  • Industry-standard certifications (Python, Linux, Cloud, Networking, Automation) - desired


Preferred Candidate Profiles:


  • Automation engineers with experience in both Windows and Linux environments, and exposure to HPE GreenLake, Aruba Central, Morpheus, VMware, Proxmox.

  • DevOps engineers with a focus on infrastructure automation.

  • Systems administrators/integrators with strong scripting and automation backgrounds.
