6 months+ on-site contract role in Pontiac, MI

Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Azure OpenAI Specialist to serve in a consultatory role and support the enterprise-wide deployment of Azure OpenAI services in a GCC-High tenant to a user base of approximately 2,500 employees. This role will involve end user support, platform administration, governance implementation, and process development to ensure a secure, scalable, and effective rollout.
The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of Azure OpenAI, AI governance practices, and enterprise IT environments, along with a user-focused mindset to guide adoption and ensure responsible AI usage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End User Support & Enablement
  • Provide support for end user questions, troubleshooting, and onboarding.
  • Provide documentation, training, and guidance for non-technical users.
  • Work with business units to identify high-impact use cases and assist with solution implementation.

  • Platform Administration
  • Support the Implementation Team in the management of Azure OpenAI resource configurations, model deployments, and API access.
  • Monitor usage patterns, performance metrics, and cost optimization.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of access controls, quotas, and billing alerts.
  • Governance & Security
  • Provide guidance in the development of enterprise policies and ethical AI guidelines.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure responsible data use, including PII and sensitive information.
  • Support the development and maintenance of audit trails, logs, and usage reports for accountability.
  • Process Development
  • Establish standardized workflows for requesting, approving, and using Azure OpenAI services.
  • Create reusable templates, prompt libraries, and usage best practices.
  • Support the design of escalation and incident response procedures related to model misuse or anomalies.
    Must-Have Skills:
    • Proven experience working with Azure OpenAI Service (GPT, embedding models, etc.)
    • Strong understanding of Azure administration, including identity (AAD), networking, and resource governance.
    • Knowledge of LLM lifecycle management and evaluation methods.
    • Experience in AI governance, security controls, and responsible AI frameworks.
    • Familiarity with prompt engineering, use case discovery, and AI-driven productivity tools.
    • Excellent communication skills for working with both technical teams and business users.
    • Ability to support and train non-technical users and facilitate adoption across departments.

    Nice-to-Have Skills:
    • Experience with Power Platform, Logic Apps, and Azure Functions for automation.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview or other data governance solutions.
    • Exposure to compliance frameworks such as CMMC, NIST, ITAR, and/or internal enterprise AI policies.
    • Understanding of enterprise change management and user adoption strategies.
