Job Details

Position: IT Manager / Systems Administrator/Engineer

Seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated IT Manager / Systems Administrator/Engineer to serve as the backbone of our technology operations, a true one-person IT department supporting a fast-paced, innovative organization. This position is ideal for an independent, hands-on professional who enjoys balancing strategic planning with day-to-day technical support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage a reliable IT infrastructure supporting both Windows and Linux environments

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, routers, switches, wireless access points, and core software systems

  • Provide expert troubleshooting and support for desktop, network, and user-related issues across the company

  • Partner with executive leadership to identify, procure, and deploy IT assets, services, and solutions

  • Ensure adherence to cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST 800-171 and CMMC 2.0

  • Implement and maintain strong security practices, data protection protocols, and backup systems

  • Administer and optimize physical and virtual servers, workstations, and endpoint devices

  • Configure and support Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, SSO, and shared file systems

  • Manage software licensing and network performance for engineering tools such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, and MATLAB


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master s preferred)

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing IT systems and infrastructure

  • Strong proficiency in both Linux and Windows Server administration

  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible)

  • In-depth understanding of network segmentation, encryption, and authentication standards

  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining NIST 800-171 / CMMC 2.0 compliance

  • Expertise with Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, and SSO technologies

  • Demonstrated success managing IT operations independently within a small or growing organization


Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications such as CCNA or equivalent networking credentials

  • Experience configuring and managing High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices

  • Working knowledge of MySQL or other relational databases

  • Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, or data-related tasks (e.g., Pandas, SciKit-Learn, SQLAlchemy)

  • Exposure to Machine Learning or Data Science infrastructure management

  • Familiarity with workflow automation tools such as N8N
