Job Title: Red Hat Linux Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
Performing system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
Implementing automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks.
Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.
Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.
Maintaining and optimizing storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based deployments
Maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Participating in on-call support and incident resolution activities as required.
Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount points.
Configuring Chron jobs for both systems and applications.
Minimum Qualifications:
Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.
Ten (10) or more years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
Ten (10) or more years of experience administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
Experience:
o Working in a complex networked system environment with strong networking
o Administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems
o Administering systems including, but not limited to, the applications below:
Oracle WebLogic Servers
Oracle Database Servers
Progress 4GL/Database Servers/OpenEdge
Apache Web Servers
vSphere hosted RHEL Servers
Rubrik backup systems
Oracle Database backups
PeopleSoft
Mobius
Elastic Search
Oracle OBI
CVS (Concurrent Version System)
o Red Hat performance tuning
o Load balancing, partitioning, back-up/recovery, and disaster recovery
o Working in an environment that requires 24/7 system availability
o Application development
o Red Hat Support
o Electronic Imaging Support
Ability:
o Work in a team environment
o Communicate effectively with internal and external personnel
o Demonstrate leadership skills
o Interface with users and helpdesk for day-to-day support
o Provide Backup/recovery and networking methodologies
o Troubleshoot at the Operating System (OS), database, and application levels.
Knowledge of Red Hat administration including configuration and tuning
Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator. Certification must be issued by Red Hat and include the resource s valid certification number.
Educational Requirement: Bachelor s degree, or postgraduate degree, in engineering, computer science, or related field (as determined by the AOC).
