ISP Network Engineer

The ISP Network Engineer is responsible for engineering the core network in a service provider and enterprise IT environment. The Engineer will handle on-site and remote engineering, management, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of core and enterprise network systems. This is a hybrid in-office/work from home position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT NECESSARILY LIMITED TO:

  • Design, engineer, administer, and help support all aspects of a service provider and enterprise network.
  • Increase reliability and efficiency of the existing network(s).
  • Collaborate with Senior Technology leadership to design, coordinate, and implement network regulatory and security compliance policies and procedures.
  • Lead and document network projects, including life-cycle upgrades, application design, and requirements.
  • Develop department procedures for all installations and configurations.
  • Document technical requirements and translate complex solutions into an accurate, concise, and easily understood record.
  • Work closely with clients, vendors, and colleagues to identify and resolve complex issues, as well as problems that impact our customers and business needs.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance data.
  • Identify and articulate current and future resource needs and participate in technology review and purchasing decisions.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve technical issues until final completion.
  • Draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • On-Call or after-hours work as needed (emergency and maintenance work).
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ Years of Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR administration and configuration.
  • Strong working knowledge of LAN, WAN, and access networks in a service provider and enterprise network.
  • Working programming and/or scripting knowledge to support workflow automation.
  • Degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field. or equivalent related certifications such as: CCNP Service Provider. Equivalent experience is also acceptable.
  • Familiarity with subscriber management (BNG and RADIUS).
  • Familiarity with service provider access technologies (FTTH, DSL, VOIP).
  • Experience with Linux systems.
  • Familiarity with open-source monitoring systems a plus.
  • Familiarity with optical transport systems a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and consistently achieve objectives with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to participate with other team members in network systems integration and design, including writing operational specifications, test plans, and requirements with attention to detail.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude (good people-skills).
  • Valid WA State Driver s license and insurable driving record.
  • Valid Enhanced WA State Driver s license or passport.
  • Pre-employment & ongoing drug screens.

  • Must be eligible to work in the USA.

Salary range $63,000 - $112,000 Annually

Salary ranges are based on available market data for the business sector and geographic location.
