Location: Onsite - McLean, VAPosition Description: We are seeking an experienced Appian Administrator to lead the migration of Appian applications from an on-prem Linux environment to AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service). This is a hands-on role focused on designing, configuring, and deploying containerized Appian solutions in the cloud. You will work closely with infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams to ensure a smooth migration and maintain high standards of performance and security.
Responsibilities:- Lead migration of Appian from on-prem Linux to AWS EKS
- Configure Kubernetes clusters, Appian containers, and Helm charts
- Manage Appian installations, upgrades, and patches
- Oversee database migration (DB2 to PostgreSQL)
- Ensure secure communication between on-prem and cloud environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document processes
Qualifications:- 5+ years as Appian Administrator (v21.x+)
- Experience migrating Appian to containerized/cloud environments (AWS EKS preferred)
- Proficient in Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and AWS (ECR, S3, IAM, CloudWatch)
- Integrated Appian with LDAP, SSO, SMTP, databases, and secrets management
- Skilled in Kubernetes pods, webhooks/controllers
- Familiar with Appian automation, CI/CD pipelines, and plugin management
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities
- Experience with EFS, ASM, Appian operator/CRD
- Knowledge of CloudFormation and Terraform
Preferred Skills:- Background in financial services or regulated industries
- Experience with Hashicorp Vault, CyberArk, or Elastic for secrets management
- Familiarity with Goldfield/private cloud or large-scale cloud migrations
- Appian or DevOps certification a plus
