Deliver highly complex solutions with significant system linkages, dependencies, associated risk. Lead and perform development efforts such as analysis, design, coding/creating, and testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Participate in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions.

2. Development includes but is not limited to customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or use tools pertinent to the area, project, or system to configure or generate a solution.

3. Ensure adherence to company and industry standards. Provides technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations.

4. Write and run unit tests.

5. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.

6. Interpret internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices. 7. Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.

8. Mentor less experienced teammates to build technical expertise.

9. Does not have management responsibilities. This position serves as the technical expert on the team and is often the strongest engineer, answering and solving the most complex, unusual issues, but does not have the skills nor the interest in management. Therefore, in the technical industry and many companies, this position is often aligned at the same level as an entry level manager. This creates a career path for an individual contributor to remain as an individual contributor and does not have to seek a management role for promotion/pay.

10. In an Agile environment: Act as an Agile champion. Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks working directly, and consulting with, the business from the beginning of the design work. Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design. Actively participate in refining user stories. Responsible for development and developing unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing. Responsible for providing warranty support and providing knowledge transfer to production support. Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and eight to twelve years of experience as a developer or equivalent education and related training or experience

2. Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge

3. Sound understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes 4. Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices

5. Ability to lead complex projects

6. Sophisticated analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical and business problems

7. Ability to influence others at senior levels to adopt a new perspective

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master's degree and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in following technologies such as: Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, MQ, OpenShift, K8S, Containerized services, Caching solutions, SQL, and No-SQL database platforms.

2. Hands on with latest Java based development suites, to design, develop and maintain high-performance, scalable, secure application/services.

3. Experience with synchronous and asynchronous integrations (MQ, Kafka).

4. Experience in developing and deploying applications on Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform), leveraging cloud-native services like containers and serverless functions.

5. Experience with QA frameworks/tools (e.g., Cucumber, Junit). Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools, CICD Tools (e.g., GitHub, Gitlab, Jenkins), APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace, New Relic) and Collaboration tools.

6, Deep understanding of modern solutions and integration patterns such as Digital Native design, twelve factor apps.

7. Experienced in synthesizing "a build for purpose" solution and create design artifacts viz. L0, L1, context diagrams, sequence diagrams.

8. Experience in Payment Orchestration and/or Faster Payments (Zelle, RTP, FedNow) or high-volume transaction processing technology solutions for a Banking or Financial Services Organization.

9. Prior experience of Product Engineering in an Agile environment: Knowledge of Agile Product development & release practices. Experience supporting a team with solutions architecture in an agile environment.

10. Banking or financial services experience.

11. Deep knowledge and experience with two or more of the following: Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills.

12. Experience with Open-Source tools and frameworks
