Job Title: IT Project Manager Public Safety Systems Replacement
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA 52401
Interview Type: Webcam and In-Person
Duration: 18 30 months | Onsite required as per project phase (no travel/relocation provided)
Seeking a skilled IT Project Manager to lead the end-to-end replacement of Public Safety Systems including CAD, RMS, and JMS serving multiple agencies like Police, Fire, and the Sheriff s Office. This is a high-impact, multi-year initiative requiring strong leadership, technical oversight, and cross-agency coordination.
Key Responsibilities:Lead full lifecycle implementation of Public Safety Systems (CAD/RMS/JMS)
Drive RFP planning, vendor selection, and stakeholder alignment
Define system requirements, workflows, and integration strategies
Create and manage detailed project plans (budget, risk, timelines)
Coordinate with internal departments, public safety teams, and vendors
Ensure compliance with CJIS standards and state/federal systems (NCIC, NIBRS)
Oversee training, testing, change management, and post-go-live support
Bachelor s in IT, Criminal Justice, Public Admin, or related field
5+ years of project management in enterprise software implementation
Strong public sector or multi-agency project experience
Familiarity with public safety workflows and terminology
Proficiency in MS Project, Office 365, Teams, and SharePoint
Experience managing vendors and software integrators
PMP and/or ITIL Certification
Experience with CAD/RMS/JMS platforms (Hexagon, Tyler, Motorola, etc.)
Familiarity with CJIS, NCIC, NIBRS standards
Experience with SmartSheet (or ability to learn quickly)
Must pass law enforcement background check
NCIC certification within 3 months (training provided)
Onsite presence required during critical phases (demos, go-live, etc.)
