Role: Network Data Engineer, onsite in Palm Beach, FL - Full-time

Experience Required: 8 - 15 + Years

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

  • Strong experience with Cisco IOS/XE, Arista EOS, and network automation tools
  • Hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies and centralized management platforms
  • Proficiency in wireless networking (802.11 standards, RF fundamentals, site surveys)
  • Solid understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and Layer 2 technologies (VLANs, STP)
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., NetScout, Cisco DNAC, NetFlow, SNMP)
  • Experience with network security concepts and integration with firewalls and NAC
  • Certifications such as CCNP, Arista ACE, CWNA, or SD-WAN vendor certifications
  • Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Ansible)
  • Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Experience with integration with firewalls, load balancers, and cloud networking
  • Experience with NetFlow, SNMP, and Syslog for monitoring

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure using Cisco and Arista switches and routers.
  • Deploy and manage SD-WAN solutions (e.g., Cisco Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet, or Versa).
  • Supporting SD-WAN routing overlays and underlays
  • Designing and implementing Layer 2 networks for enterprise and data center environments
  • Troubleshooting broadcast storms, loop issues, and port flapping
  • Performing switch upgrades and firmware management
  • Configuring switch stacks and chassis-based systems
  • Managing switch ACLs and security policies
  • Monitoring switch performance and port utilization
  • Designing and implementing & supporting Layer 3 wireless networks for WAN and data center connectivity including access points, controllers,
  • Configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols in multi-vendor environments
  • Managing Internet edge routing and peering with ISPs
  • Implementing route filtering and prefix lists
  • Diagnosing routing loops, black holes, and asymmetric routing issues
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues across wired and wireless environments
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure network compliance and implement firewall policies
  • Perform n etwork upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of hardware and software
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network incidents and outages
  • Work with vendors and service providers to resolve issues and optimize performance

Generic Managerial Skills,

  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or ITIL frameworks is a plus
  • Ability to scope, plan, and deliver network projects (e.g., upgrades, migrations, deployments)
  • Identifying potential network risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery planning
