Our Challenge:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our dynamic team in the banking domain. The RTE will be responsible for facilitating the Agile Release Train (ART) processes and execution, ensuring alignment with business goals and delivering high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, excellent leadership skills, and a background in banking or financial services.

 

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA/ Dallas, TX is $110K-$120K /year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate ART Events: Organize and facilitate key ART events, including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect and Adapt workshops.
  • Support Agile Practices: Ensure the implementation of Agile principles and practices across the teams, guiding them in continuous improvement and self-organization.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of priorities and delivery of high-value features.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks and dependencies across the ART, facilitating resolution and ensuring transparency in communication.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on ART performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Provide coaching and mentorship to teams on Agile practices, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements and objectives.
  • Release Planning: Oversee the release planning process, ensuring that releases are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all processes are compliant with relevant banking regulations and standards, including risk management and security protocols.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. A Master s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Release Train Engineer or in a similar role within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Agile Certification: Certified SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or similar Agile certifications.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Rally) and basic understanding of software development processes.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering results.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred, but not required

  • Experience in leading Agile transformations in a banking environment.
  • Knowledge of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
