GeBBS Consulting, a leader in Healthcare Technology solutions, has an immediate opening for an Apigee System Engineer to support a major healthcare partner in a fully remote role.

Position Description:

The Apigee System Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, construction, testing and implementation of changing business needs (requirements) and assisting with the resolution of business problems. They will be accountable for delivery of moderate to complex technical solutions in support of implementation of product capabilities related to data management and or claim processing subsystems. This role aids analytical staff in research, development of business requirements and test plans, system documentation, and implementation of system enhancements and fixes in the delivery of practical systems solutions. The Apigee Systems Engineer will also provide support for the claims processing system and assist in defining the development standards, programming, troubleshooting and management of problems affecting IT software to help sustain the highest system reliability, maintainability, and performance possible. They will communicate with Managers and customer stakeholder regarding status of assigned projects and requests. They may also assume a technical leadership role for selected projects.

What You ll Get to Do:

  • Act as the main support resource for the Apigee platform.
  • Engage in development of API proxies.
  • Provide support for customer connectivity setup and continuing maintenance.
  • Be responsible for development and production support activities for the Apigee platform.
  • Attend daily stand ups, providing updates on current/upcoming work and any blockers
  • Estimate, manage, and plan tasks assigned via the backlog
  • Collaborate with team members as needed to ensure blockers are cleared.
  • Take responsibility for quality of code delivered
  • Attend/schedule code reviews as needed
  • Work on connectivity and access, security involvement, security management, client IDs and secrets to access the digital platform
  • Research and resolve production issues so claims can be paid accurately and timely
  • Provide support to implement process improvements that enhance efficiencies and productivity.
  • Provide support of both model office and production environments, including monitoring/balancing of inventory and system issues.
  • Manage workload by reviewing assigned CSRs to improve timely delivery and to, prevent aging.
  • Provide peer reviews and walkthroughs of system enhancements.
  • Generate ad hoc reports for the Plan customers to support research and analysis, recovery efforts, and post-implementation check out of system enhancements.
  • Code changes in accordance with the technical design documentation and coding standards.
  • Test output against requirements to ensure the program functions as specified by the customer
  • Promote code into appropriate systems while validating and monitoring the output to ensure the code works per requirements.
  • Apply sound judgment, discretion, and analysis in coordinating, developing, and designing computerized information systems solutions for business problems to meet expanding or changing business requirements.
  • Present proposals for system enhancements, improvements, and/or replacement of existing systems
  • Determine the economic and operational feasibility of using system solutions to satisfy information needs and presents proposals for system enhancements, improvement and/or replacement of existing systems.
  • Create and maintain technical design documentation for quality control purposes.
  • Perform estimates and designs on small-to-medium Change System Request (<1000 hours).
  • Participate in quality assurance and code reviews.
  • Serve as a team lead on small to moderate application development projects.
  • Working with external partners on connectivity and access, security involvement, security management, client IDs and secrets to access the digital platform.

You ll Bring these Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with Apigee development and CI/CD engines.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
  • Prior experience with API Development in both Cloud and On-Prem environments.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate appropriately across all levels of an organization
  • Developing proxies front end to the digital assets, that will work through the Apigee platform
  • Strong organizational skills. This is a role dealing with large amounts of simultaneous change and the applicant needs to be able to be a self-directed, multi-tasker who can prioritize their work effectively.
  • Strong written communication skills (the team works on camera and collaborates face to face sometimes) with ability to respond to questions within 24 hours.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of software development standards, coding standards, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Mainframe and Mid-Tier technologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Effective conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to apply appropriate information technology across the enterprise.
  • Expert knowledge of the software development lifecycle using waterfall, agile, or iterative methodology.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Methodology (PMM) processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to promote working relationships with staff, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to read and develop application code and macros.
  • Ability to provide guidance to customers on moderate to complex system enhancements
  • Ability to provide high level estimates and designs for system enhancements
  • Ability to maintain awareness of state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, problem-solving techniques, and computing equipment
  • Ability to assess and determine impacts of changes to the system.
