Job Title: Sr. Financial Data Analyst
Location: Houston, TX 77002

Hybrid: 3 days onsite
Term: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (C2H)

Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and present data-driven insights.
- Create and maintain dashboards/reports using Power BI; optimize performance and build budget visualizations.
- Perform data analysis (cleaning, transforming, visualizing) to identify trends and support decisions.
- Develop and support data pipelines (ETL) with data engineering teams.
- Manage monthly financial forecasting, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Provide detailed CAPEX/OPEX reporting and insights.
- Interpret financial and operational data to support leadership decisions.
- Support project value propositions, prioritization, and strategy.
Must-Have Technical Skills:
- SQL (Strong and recent hands-on experience): Able to write queries from scratch, work with joins, filters, and complex transformations.
- Power BI (Proficient): Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations tied to financial KPIs.
- SAP (Finance Transactions): Understand transactions and cost elements related to CAPEX/OPEX.
- Experience with cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform or Azure.
- Familiarity with Oracle DB and SAP HANA.
Preferred Tools/Platforms:
- Data Warehousing: Google BigQuery, Oracle, SAP HANA
- Visualization Tools: Tableau, Looker (Power BI is primary required skill)
- Cloud: Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
- Effective communication and presentation skills to relay insights to non-technical audiences
- Ability to bridge data gaps between leadership and operations
- Self-driven learner with initiative and curiosity
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Math, Statistics, CS, or Finance
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Prior experience in finance-focused data roles, preferably in utilities
- Exposure to project management is a plus
