Job Description: Teradata Developer

Role Overview Seeking experienced Teradata Developers to design, develop, and optimize large-scale data warehouse solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Teradata SQL, ETL development, and performance tuning, with hands-on experience using Teradata utilities and enterprise ETL tools. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex Teradata SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and macros.

  • Build and maintain ETL workflows using Informatica, DataStage, BTEQ, and Teradata utilities.

  • Utilize Teradata utilities such as FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT, and BTEQ for data loading and extraction.

  • Perform query optimization and performance tuning using explain plans, indexing strategies, and statistics.

  • Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Conduct data validation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

  • Ensure adherence to data governance, quality, and security standards.

  • Support production deployments and ongoing enhancements in large data warehouse environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience with Teradata SQL (joins, indexes, explain plans).

  • Experience with Teradata utilities: FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT, BTEQ.

  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica or DataStage.

  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.

  • Proven expertise in performance tuning and query optimization.

  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux scripting.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Teradata Vantage and advanced analytics.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) for Teradata integration.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
