RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Greenwood Village, CO that is seeking a Scala Software Developer.
Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, monitor, enhance and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas
* Analyze, revise and document difficulties in existing system logic
* Provide management with system analysis, feedback, and improvement recommendations
* Work with software architects identifying and recommending design and requirements needed for software enhancements
* Develop RESTful APIs for use by various front end/UI using Scala/Java/typescript technologies
* Strong experience with any of these programing languages (Java, Python, Scala, Typescript)
* Develop microservices using AWS
* Take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects
* Develop and implement software according to proposals
* Estimate scope of work
* Create project documentation
* Implement software proposals
* Serves as an escalation point to resolve incidents and problems for production applications and web services supported by the team in accordance with identified Service Level Objectives
* Collaborates with internal customers, technical, and architecture teams to solve complex software problems
* Influences system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for software enhancements
* Mentors and coaches less experienced staff
* Participates in continuous performance improvement and root cause analysis sessions to discuss opportunities to improve processes, system reliability, and standards
* Analyzes and resolves computer related problems by coordinating with in-house personnel to diagnose and fix operational issues, as well as consulting, advising and training on specialized features and functions
* Implements internal automation systems, including code development
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
* 5+ years of experience with the following: Software Development methodologies, Architecture, Networking, or Systems Administration
* Scala developer with Scalantra framework experience
* Experience with Kafka, Redis, NoSQL database, Splunk is a plus
* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
* Thorough understanding of software engineering and object-oriented design principles
* Strong and current development experience in Java and web technologies
* Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects
* Familiarity with dependency management and build systems like Maven and Ant
* Experience working with open-source software such as Spring, Google Guice, Guava, Tomcat, and NoSQL solutions
* Experience with Scala, Typescript, Java, Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Databases (Relational and NoSQL), RESTful web services, AWS, Micro services, Jersey, SOAP web services, Axis, JMS, ESB's, XML, XSD, XSL, JSON, HTML5, JavaScript, Apache open-source libraries, Maven, Git, Eclipse/NetBeans/IntelliJ, continuous integration testing, shell scripting
* Strong experience with software security principles and patterns
* Ability to collaborate with and contribute to a common culture of excellence
* Hands-on experience with cloud solution providers AWS
* Agile experience
* Experience with AWS, micro services
* Able to work in an office environment (4 days office, 1 day remote)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
