Job Description
ECS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced SAS Systems Architect to join our SAS deployment architecture team in our Fairfax, VA office.
In this role, you will support DoD initiatives by leveraging data analytics to optimize programs and inform strategic business decisions. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable SAS solutions that align with mission-critical objectives across federal agencies. This role is responsible for managing and prioritizing projects and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality analytical insights and reports. Ensures consistent, constant, and proactive communications with the client and project team throughout the execution of the data and analytics operational domain across our customers. The customer relies on this role to provide SAS Subject Matter Expert (SME)-level recommendations and guidance to other system administrators, ensuring best practices in deployment, configuration, and performance optimization.

The customer relies on this role to provide SAS Subject Matter Expert (SME)-level recommendations and guidance to other system administrators, ensuring best practices in deployment, configuration, and performance optimization.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience administering Linux-based environments, including shell scripting, system performance tuning, and troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of managing and deploying microservices-based applications (e.g., using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar container orchestration tools).
- Hands-on experience migrating legacy microservices and server-based applications to containerized Kubernetes environments, including designing deployment strategies, managing persistent storage, and implementing CI/CD pipelines for scalable and resilient infrastructure.
- At least (3) years of experience with the SAS Viya platform and providing consulting services to customers
- Must possess a current TS/SCI clearance with the ability for CI Poly follow-on
- Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC)
- Must possess a DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level I (Security+, etc.)
- Must possess a SAS Viya 3.5 certification from SAS
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical and business concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to handle complex customer situations and interact with all levels of personnel to provide a quick and effective resolution.
- Proven experience in data analytics
- Open to traveling within the Washington DC Metro Area, and CONUS.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
Desired Skills
- Active Public Trust Background Investigation (BI)
- Applied and demonstrable experience using SAS products for data management, analysis and reporting.
- Experience with languages such as Python and R, and abilities identifying and implementing machine-learning (ML), robotic process automation (RPA), and artificial intelligence (AI).
- Experience with data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing a team of data analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their professional growth and development.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
