The Navy Warfare Development Center (NAVWARDEVCEN) is seeking support for an Application Engineer II who will be responsible for software development and will perform routine customer support of IT systems and applications to modernize legacy systems.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and study complex system requirements by utilizing research, discovery, and development fundamentals.
  • Design software tools and subsystems to support software reutilization, domain analysis, and implementation management.
  • Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, CASE tools, or other accepted design techniques.
  • Estimate software development schedules, review existing programs through RDT&E, and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques.
  • Support business development activities as required (e.g., customer technical capabilities briefings, past performance content, technical solutions).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience, of which at least 3 years must be specialized in IT systems analysis and programming.
  • Must have the following technical skills with 8+ years of experience:
  • Microsoft SharePoint 2013
  • Must have the following technical skills with 5+ years of experience:
  • Microsoft SharePoint 2016, Microsoft SQL Server 2016, Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 or higher, CSS3
  • Must have the following technical skills with 3+ years of experience:
  • Ajax, XML, HTML, XSL, XSLT, JavaScript, View JS
  • Must have the following technical skills with 2+ years of experience:
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2019, Microsoft SharePoint 2019
  • Must have the following technical skills with 1+ years of experience:
  • Navy NWL, Navy FIMS
  • Secret clearance required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to meet minimum security clearance requirements.
  • Have demonstrated knowledge in IT System analysis and programming.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to be an accomplishment-oriented, team player, and an individual contributor.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, be proactive, and assume additional responsibility and accountability.
  • Ability to develop strategies to achieve organizational goals; continual attention to detail, establishes priorities and meets deadlines.
  • Ability to format and create training courses and learning materials.
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills.
  • Experience with MS teams.
  • Adapt strategy to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands and rapidly be able to assimilate new information.
  • Ability to approach others tactfully; React well under pressure; treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or posture; accept responsibility for own actions; follow through on commitments.
