What We're Doing
Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.
The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.
The Work
The selected engineer will work in a collaborative environment working internal model framework development, internal tactical to model conversion, supporting application development and translation of coding languages for modernization efforts. On occasion you will work to support deliverable documentation of the models developed after performing a verification and validation effort.

Basic Qualifications
BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related STEM field with minimum of 2 years relevant professional work experience
Active U.S. DoD security clearance
Current GMD/GWS experience
Experience writing code and compiling software programs in one or more of the following languages: Ada, C++, Java, Python
Experience debugging and troubleshooting software programs
Familiar with automated software testing tools and methods
Unix/Linux Operating System experience
Strong decision making and communication (written and verbal) skills
Must be able to work in the office in a closed-area work environment
Ability to work in a collaborative, Agile IPT environment
Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs
Desired skills
MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related STEM field
Security+ certification
GMD/MDA Experience
Experience in Product Owner or Scrum Master roles
Experience in C++/Java/Ada Software Development
Experience with UNIX, Linux and Windows operating systems
Experience in IBM Rational DOORS system software

Experience in Integrated Digital Engineering Environments

Work Schedule Information

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $73,400 - $129,260. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
