Job Description
General Summary
Software Delivery Managers (SDM) at Brinks Global ATM build solutions that support our operations and customers' business. SDMs are responsible for the software they develop, from design to ensuring that it reaches production and then monitoring it. This role oversees the development of new and existing applications that support business objectives. This role requires working closely with software engineering staff and internal resources from sales, operations, accounting, external IT teams, and other support functions to develop solutions that will work for the continued growth of the business. Application development consists of building component-based applications delivered over the internet, application design, software modeling, component and object-oriented design. The day-to-day duties include but are not limited to managing a team of software engineers, defining the digital strategy that meets the organization's goals, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget, that all stakeholders are engaged in the process with effective communications, identify and work to resolve issues within the project or delivery process, and prioritize work to meet strategic priorities. The person will operate in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environment, and they must be passionate about finding solutions for customers, fascinated with the problem, accepting of a changing environment, and constantly looking to influence the outlook of the company.

Software engineers, product managers/software delivery managers, and UI/UX Designers work in ensembles to produce products. This involves between three and four 1 hour long sessions each day where all parties work together to produce solutions. Ensembles are much like pair programming but with usually 3 engineers, a software delivery manager, and a UI/UX designer included.
Moderate Travel
This role requires moderate travel, approximately 20-30% of the time. Travel will include both domestic and international, primarily for client meetings, strategic planning, and project oversight. Software engineering teams reside within all four time zones in the US and within the United Kingdom.
A valid passport is required, and candidates should be prepared for extended stays (between 1 and 2 weeks) as needed.
Quarterly full team meetings are held from our primary engineering campus in Billings, Montana, US. All staff are required to attend at least 2 of these events for training and team building.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & TASKS
- Develop an understanding of the product user's responsibilities and needs when interacting with the product software
- Responsible for drafting project documentation including, but not limited to, user stories, process flows, value stream maps, documenting marginal saving and lifts, business cost justifications, cases, user guides, A3s, and training material
- Prioritizes and refines assigned Product backlogs
- Communicate project status and backlog status to stakeholders
- Collect feedback throughout the product lifecycle
- Participates in weekly and milestone retrospectives for the purpose of relaying operational lift, feedback from internal users, and understand sales, development and operation lifecycles
- Works with product owners to ensure their team members are properly trained
- Advocates for the product and its development
- Able to break a strategy down into many tasks, assess the skill levels needed for tasks across a team with varied experience, and assign those duties across product sprints to maximum effect

- Virtuous Cycles - must be able to create, demonstrate, and report on virtuous cycles within processes by way of feedback loops using Systems Thinking methodologies
- Software Development Life Cycle - must have deep knowledge of the software development life including planning and requirements gathering, system design, development, implementation, and integration, testing deployment, and fast feedback.
- DORA - must have understand of the DORA model and how to work with engineering teams to drive the DORA measures.
- Learning - must be constantly learning and developing skills. SDMs are assigned quarterly and learning objectives that they must meet to stay up to date with best practices. SDMs without lean certifications will work through Lean certification processes.
MINIMUM QUALITIFCATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 3 Years of project management experience
- 3 Years of requirements gathering and refinement experience
- 3 Years of software release planning and readiness verification
COMPUTER / APPLICATIONS SKILLS:
General understanding of
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- project management tools such as ClickUp, Kanbanize, YouTrack, Microsoft Project, Monday.Com, Trac or similar tool
- Integrated Development Environments
- Diagramming tools such as Visio, Drawio, etc
WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Able to work in an open environment with call center noise in the background
Remote
- A dedicated space must be set aside for the working environment as day-to-day activities include meetings, calls, and conversations with team members.

- Space for a working area that contains two to three monitors, a workstation, and accessories
- A stable internet connection that provides at least 50 Mbps
- A dedicated space that is free from distractions and where confidentiality can be kept. Must not be a shared working space.
