Job Details

Our client in West Palm Beach is looking for an IT Systems Supervisor to be on-site 3 days per week for a 6-month contract.

The Systems Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's enterprise systems infrastructure. This includes managing virtual desktop environments (VDI), VMware and ESXi platforms, enterprise storage systems (NetApp, Pure Storage), and directory services such as Active Directory. The role requires hands-on technical expertise combined with leadership capabilities to guide a team of systems administrators in delivering secure, reliable, and high-performing IT services. The Systems Supervisor will also drive automation and efficiency initiatives using tools such as PowerShell and will ensure systems meet performance, compliance, and security standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of system administrators responsible for enterprise systems and infrastructure.
  • Oversee deployment, configuration, and administration of VMware vSphere/ESXi and VDI environments.
  • Manage enterprise storage solutions, including NetApp and Pure Storage platforms.
  • Ensure effective administration of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell for efficiency and consistency.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; implement improvements as needed.
  • Maintain system security and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams on cross-functional projects.
  • Provide escalation support for critical system issues and outages.
  • Prepare reports and updates for IT leadership on system performance and team activities.

Qualifications
  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and VDI solutions.
  • Strong expertise in managing NetApp and Pure Storage enterprise storage platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory administration, including Group Policy and domain management.
  • Demonstrated experience in scripting and automation using PowerShell.
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud).
  • Strong background in IT security and compliance best practices.
