Overview: The Organization is currently undergoing the migration of its Unified Communications Systems from its current on-premise Cisco Call Manager to MS Teams Phone. To this effect, Organization is seeking a Unified Communications Specialist with expertise in MS Teams Phone systems.
Objective: This position will support Organization s unified communications as a service (UCaaS) program to migrate the enterprise on-premise legacy voice system to the cloud. This candidate will be responsible for technical support, including configuration, deployment, testing, support and troubleshooting for the Organization s Microsoft Teams Phone voice network. The UCaaS Telecommunications Engineer will support the migrations for multiple departments under the guidance of the UCaaS Program Manager. Individual projects within this program include:
- Migration of Organization's on-premise Cisco Call Manager users to MS Teams Phone
- Migration of existing analog devices from legacy Cisco infrastructure to AudioCodes Teams gateways
Decommissioning existing legacy equipment and services according to the Organization's surplus policies and procedures
- Implementation of solutions to support ancillary voice services such as intercoms, call queues, paging, faxes, door buzzers and voice applications in the Organization s court rooms and meeting spaces
Position Responsibilities include:
- Support implementation of Teams Phone migration, including the transition of analog gateways and decommission of existing Cisco on-premise system
- Assess requirements, provide recommendations, test solutions and lead implementation for any approved voice services including legacy analog offerings
- Provide operational support for MS Teams Phone during and after migration
- Ensure enrolled Poly desk phones maintain current software and firmware
- Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams and operational procedures
- Collaborate with Program Manager, Program Coordinator, vendor and other project staff to complete migration and recommend project and process improvements
Position Qualifications
- Over 10+ years telecommunications experience such as PSTN, PBX, VoIP, cloud voice services, SIP, circuits, wiring, dial plans, legacy telecommunication infrastructure required
- 10+ years of IT infrastructure experience such as LAN and network security
- 3+ experience with Microsoft Teams Phone or other UCaaS/CCaaS systems
- Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences, across all levels of the organization
- Experience working for federal, state or local government agencies is preferred.
