Position Summary

A major public sector technology initiative is seeking a Senior Project Manager with 10+ years of experience to lead the implementation of complex IT projects. This role requires strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to manage stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing multiple concurrent workstreams and navigating all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from planning to go-live.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end project oversight, including requirements assessment, schedule development, resource coordination, risk mitigation, and progress reporting. This position demands the ability to understand complex business and technical scenarios and the flexibility to adapt strategies to overcome project challenges.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project management and third-party solution implementation activities

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to assess dependencies and manage cross-functional project plans

  • Lead status meetings with stakeholders and vendors, tracking actions and decisions

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules covering all phases of the SDLC

  • Perform impact assessments for timeline changes, maintain issue logs, and update schedules as needed

  • Represent internal stakeholders in planning sessions and track vendor implementation tasks

  • Collaborate with SMEs, QA teams, and vendors to support testing, triage, and go-live readiness

  • Identify and resolve project issues, ensuring risks are managed effectively

  • Communicate project updates and escalations to senior leadership and business stakeholders

  • Promote adherence to PMI project management best practices

  • Oversee the work of business analysts assigned to the project as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree or higher in Engineering, Technology, or a related field

  • 10+ years of project management experience

  • At least 5 years of business analysis experience

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Government sector experience (local, state, or federal) preferred

  • Experience with State-Based Marketplaces is highly desirable

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including MS Project
