Role Overview:
BEPC is hiring a Semiconductor Gas & Chemical Technician to support operations in a high-tech manufacturing environment. This role offers a dynamic, hands-on opportunity ideal for individuals with industrial or mechanical experience looking to build a career in semiconductor support services.
The position includes extensive on-the-job training and a pathway to permanent employment based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain chemical and gas distribution systems in a semiconductor facility.
- Perform container changes for gases, chemicals, and slurries.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair gas and chemical handling equipment.
- Utilize computer systems to monitor and support operational tasks.
- Adhere strictly to all safety and quality protocols.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years’ experience in manufacturing, oil & gas, chemical processing, industrial maintenance, biotech, automotive mechanics, wastewater treatment, or similar fields.
- Valid driver's license and English fluency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with mechanical/electronic systems or chemical/gas equipment.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools.
- Military technical training.
- Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
- Walk up to 6 miles per day.
- Climb tanker trucks (with fall protection) and manage chemical offloading.
- Wear a Supplied Air Respirator for short durations (10–15 mins).
- Lift up to 40 lbs; bend and reach overhead regularly.
- PPE provided; safety boots required (voucher available).
- Must complete a Fit for Duty Evaluation including respiratory and hearing tests before starting.
Contract Details:
- Pay Rate: $19.00 – $21.68/hour (weekly pay).
- Schedule: First 60–90 days: M–F, 7 AM–3 PM. Then shifts to 12-hour days: 6 AM–6 PM.
- Duration: 12-month contract with potential for extension or permanent hire.
- Location: Austin, TX.
