Job Description:
Network Administrator

This individual contributor role is responsible for the administration and upkeep of the organization's WAN and LAN infrastructure. The position involves managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking hardware, as well as implementing system upgrades and network design improvements. The role also includes application support for various systems (Avaya PBX, EMC, and Symitar) and providing technical assistance to users and remote locations for network-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, upgrade, secure, and modify Cisco routers and switches across branch and remote locations.
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues including connectivity, bandwidth, and quality of service concerns; coordinate with telecom providers as needed.
  • Monitor network connectivity for branches, ATMs, and hosted client environments.
  • Provide user support and respond to help desk inquiries related to network functionality.
  • Establish and maintain VPN and MPLS router connections.
  • Offer technical support for Avaya PBX systems and associated applications.
  • Provide assistance with EMC systems.
  • Configure consoles, printers, and SymConnect ports within Symitar environments.
  • Set up and support access for users, vendors, and clients requiring network connectivity.
  • Maintain documentation of network changes and configurations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Minimum of four years of hands-on experience in networking, particularly with Cisco routers and switches-covering deployment, configuration, security, and upgrades.
  • Solid understanding of moderately complex network systems, including EIGRP, CSS, Pix firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, Protego, and TACACS.
  • Familiarity with Avaya PBX, EMC, and Symitar technologies.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, follow direction, and collaborate effectively within a team.
Preferred Certifications
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)

Pay rate: $50 - 55 per hour
