Salary: $115,000.00 USD Annually - $150,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Our client in the capital markets industry is currently seeking a Associate Principal, Software Engineering DevOps. This position will first and foremost be a Python Software Engineer position with the secondary skillset being DevOps. This is a full time position with a hybrid schedule based in Chicago, IL. (no c2c).
*Must be located in or near Chicago for 3 days onsite.
They are looking for a developer who is comfortable with Python scripting but also someone who is able to write Python applications. The team this role is position in is responsible for automating applications across the enterprise. Their upcoming 2024 work will focus on CICD and implementation type work.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
- Writing high-quality Python code
- Creating comprehensive project documentation
- Tackling issues by troubleshooting, debugging, and ensuring resolutions
- Supporting colleagues to ensure project completion
- Ensuring extensive automation test coverage and reviewing code
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Hands on experience with: Python scripting and writing Python applications, DevOps and leading software projects
- Working on automation and process improvement projects
- Direct experience as a DevOps Engineer is considered a bonus but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, change-oriented and highly regulated environment
- Thought leader - ability to speak at software industry seminars and conferences, contributes to open source projects, participates in Stack Overflow and has an online presence and publishes articles on the field
