Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior PHP Laravel Developer with strong backend API expertise to develop and optimize scalable, secure, high-performance web applications. The ideal candidate has extensive experience building RESTful APIs, working with microservices, and integrating with third-party systems such as CRMs, underwriting platforms, and payment gateways.

Key Responsibilities

Backend API Development

Architect, build, and maintain RESTful APIs using PHP Laravel.
Develop microservices for scalable and modular backend solutions.
Optimize APIs for high traffic, low latency, and secure data delivery.

System Integrations

Integrate with third-party APIs, CRM systems, underwriting services, and claims platforms.
Implement payment gateway integrations for transactions and commission handling.
Build middleware for efficient data synchronization across systems.

Database Engineering

Design and optimize MSSQL databases for application and analytics use cases.
Implement caching strategies (Redis) and performance optimizations.
Ensure compliance with data privacy and consent management requirements.

Security & Access Control

Implement secure authentication using OAuth2, JWT, and API keys.
Develop and maintain role-based access control (RBAC).
Conduct security assessments and enforce encryption best practices.

DevOps & Performance

Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments and scaling.
Build CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Use observability tools (ELK Stack, Grafana, Prometheus) to monitor API health.

Required Qualifications

9+ years of backend development experience with PHP Laravel.
Strong expertise in RESTful APIs, API versioning, and microservices.
Experience with secure API design: OAuth2, JWT, RBAC.
Experience with third-party integrations (CRM, payment gateways, underwriting APIs).
Strong knowledge of MSSQL Server and Redis.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Strong debugging, optimization, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with C# / .NET for cross-system integration.
Experience with XBSL (a plus).
Knowledge of AI/ML implementations for predictive analytics.
Familiarity with Kafka or event-driven architecture.
Background in insurance or financial services backend systems.
