Job Description:
  • The Datadog Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining end-to-end observability solutions using Datadog.
  • This role involves developing dashboards, configuring alerts, and integrating application and database monitoring.
  • The engineer will also collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proactive monitoring, improved reliability, and compliance with enterprise observability standards.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Strong experience in designing and deploying Datadog dashboards for application and database domains.
  • Experience configuring alerting logic using Datadog monitors, composite alerts, and anomaly detection.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for dynamic alerting and data enrichment.
  • Ability to work remotely with strong technical proficiency.
Experience:
  • Proven experience integrating Datadog APM with microservices (Java, .NET, Node.js) and front-end layers.
  • Experience monitoring service health, latency, error rates, and throughput.
  • Hands-on experience enabling distributed tracing and log correlation for root cause analysis.
  • Experience configuring synthetic tests and real-user monitoring (RUM) for critical endpoints.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Datadog dashboards for both application and database monitoring.
  • Configure and manage alerts using Datadog monitors, anomaly detection, and composite logic.
  • Develop automation scripts to support dynamic alerting and data enrichment.
  • Integrate Datadog APM with various applications and services to monitor performance and reliability.
  • Set up Datadog integrations for Oracle and SQL Server to monitor query performance, blocking sessions, replication lag, backup status, and more.
  • Automate alerting for threshold breaches and unusual patterns through scripting.
  • Build reusable scripts to generate dynamic dashboards and auto-adjust alert thresholds based on historical data.
  • Integrate Datadog with ServiceNow for automated incident creation and management.
  • Maintain version-controlled repositories and CI/CD pipelines for observability assets.
  • Collaborate with application and database teams to gather monitoring requirements and ensure proper observability coverage.
  • Conduct workshops and knowledge transfer sessions for support teams on dashboard usage and alert management.
  • Generate regular reliability reports using Datadog analytics and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and RCA documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise monitoring standards and maintain audit readiness.
Should Have:
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with SRE practices and monitoring SLIs/SLOs.
Qualification And Education:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
