Forensics Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Fremont, CA that is seeking a Forensics Technician to support the E-Discovery/InfoSec team with increasing device forensics volume. You will work in a secure lab environment performing forensic acquisitions for devices under legal hold and validating data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
* Acquire forensic images of MacBooks, Windows devices, and loose hard drives
* Validate and document acquisition results
* Process devices under legal hold (target: ~6 devices/day)
* Handle BitLocker recovery keys and unlock encrypted volumes
* Safely open laptops and identify/remove internal drives as needed
* Strictly follow secure lab protocols, NDA requirements, and InfoSec standards

REQUIREMENTS:
* 2-5 years of digital/computer forensics experience
* Hands-on imaging experience with computers (not phones)
* Familiarity with Microsoft BitLocker fundamentals
* Ability to work onsite in a high-security, no-photography, no-recording environment

Proficiency with at least 2 of the following (Cellebrite & FTK preferred):
* Cellebrite Digital Collector
* FTK Imager
* Magnet Axiom Cyber
* TX1 (OpenText)

Nice to Have:
* Some college coursework in IT, cybersecurity, or related fields * Forensics certifications (e.g., NIKs or equivalent)
* Experience handling high daily device volumes

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
