Job Title:- Sr. Financial Services Analyst

Duration: 12 Month Contract

Location: Washington, DC (hybrid 1 day per week in office)

Job Description ::

Responsibilities and Duties Financial Process Analysis & Support

  • Lead analysis and documentation of accounting, settlement, payments, trading lifecycle, and collateral workflows.
  • Perform detailed analysis of financial data, system behavior, and operational processes to identify issues, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Review and validate transaction bookings, data flows, and financial events across systems.
  • Partner with Operations and Treasury teams to resolve settlement breaks, payment discrepancies, and trade exceptions.
  • Support accounting and reporting teams by ensuring accurate GL flows, reconciliations, and financial data alignment.

Requirements Gathering & Solution Design

  • Conduct end to end requirements gathering for system enhancements, integrations, and new financial capabilities.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead and facilitate working sessions, workshops, and cross functional discussions to drive alignment, clarify requirements, and support decision making.
  • Develop and maintain process flow documentation, including current state and future state workflows, data mappings, and control points.
  • Create test cases, test scripts, and validation scenarios to ensure system changes meet business and control requirements.
  • Support testing efforts including test planning, test execution, and defect management. Data Integrity, Reporting & Controls
  • Work with data teams to resolve gaps between trade capture systems, data warehouses, and reporting platforms.
  • Investigate data inconsistencies related to static data, cashflows, pricing, and market data feeds.
  • Support issues month end close activities including validation of rates, factors, schedules, and system configurations. Process Improvement, Systems Development & Audit Support Participate in system upgrades, new platform implementations, and process automation initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance controls, and improve data quality.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit and Risk teams to support control testing and documentation.
  • Assist with onboarding new financial products, legal entities, and system configurations.

Desired Skills and Qualifications Financial Domain Expertise

  • Strong understanding of securities trading and settlement processes (cash, securities, derivatives).
  • Experience with domestic and cross border payments.
  • Knowledge of trading lifecycle events, confirmations, clearing, and reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with collateral management, margining, and eligibility rules.
  • Solid grounding in accounting principles, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of data lineage, data quality controls, and financial data governance.
  • Ability to analyze cashflows, funding needs, intraday liquidity, and bank account activity to support Treasury and Treasury Management.
  • Ability to interpret and validate bank reporting, payment files, settlement instructions, and cash movement data.
  • Experience with financial systems such as Calypso, FIS Integrity, eWire, and ACH Tracker or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to perform data analytics to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes across financial datasets.
  • Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is a plus. Professional Competencies

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5 years or more of experience in financial services, banking, capital markets, or a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with settlement, payments, trading lifecycle events, collateral management, accounting processes, and financial reporting.
  • Prior experience supporting financial systems, data integrations, or process automation initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating with cross functional teams including Finance, Operations, Technology, and Risk.
