Services Tech is a dynamic and fast-paced area within the Firm's WM Technology Division. We are responsible for creating innovative technology solutions for the Digital Business Automation, one of the strategic growth areas of the Firm, providing cash management and lending products and services to our WM clients. This includes state-of-the-art technology for a nationwide network of Private Bankers and product specialists who work with Financial Advisors to provide access to products and services such as online banking, cards, deposit products, residential mortgages, securities-based loans, and tailored lending. As part of strategy to design and implement industry leading applications Morgan Stanley Global Banking Technology team is looking for a Full stack developer with good experience to join a technologically advanced team. As part of this critical initiative, the requirement is to have a dynamic, resourceful and skilled Full Stack Java Developer who would work with the team and stakeholders in building and delivering renovated platforms. Candidate must have expertise in design and development of core Java applications as well as multi-tiered Java EE-style applications. Candidate will work as part of an Agile squad and interact with other squad members as well as external stakeholders including business and technology partners (local as well as global) across Wealth Management, infrastructure team, architecture team to deliver the objectives.

What you'll do in the role:
  • Hands-on development using Java and related technologies
  • Design and development of scalable resilient financial systems.
  • Produce high quality maintainable code while enforcing development best practices
  • Collaborate with other team members through peer programming and code reviews.
  • Work in the Agile development methodologies, collaborating with business and technology teams located globally
  • Actively contribute and participate in sprint grooming and planning discussions, daily stand-ups, and Agile ceremonies
  • Take ownership of code components from analysis to development to unit testing as well as production support

What you'll bring to the role:
  • Minimum BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands on experience in java and related technologies
  • Core Java
  • Java EE
  • Spring (core, aspect, boot, batch)
  • Web Services (XML, JSON , REST, SOAP)
  • Relational databases (SQL server, DB2)
  • Understanding of non-functional requirements (security, scalability, reliability)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills
  • Working experience of Agile development methodologies and of DevOps integration
  • Exposure to JIRA or other ALM tools to create a productive, high quality development
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment

Skills Desired
  • UI Technologies (Angular, React, Typescript, Javascript, HTML, CSS)
  • Messaging technologies(Kafka, MQ)
  • Unix/Linux and/or any scripting language (perl)
  • NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
  • Experience working with public Cloud (Azure or AWS)
  • Knowledge of Financial market or Financial services.
  • Ability to develop proof of concepts/prototypes in the new areas of development

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $86,000 and $125,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
