Job Details

Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for Senior Software Development Engineers, DevOps in Atlanta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the build process for multiple concurrent releases in cloud environment.
  • Automate the build and deployment process through the build system.
  • Maintain various software feature branches using a Source Control System balancer, HTTP/HTTPS communication, and browser clients as it pertains to a large-scale web application environment.
  • Design and configure continuous integration build system through collaboration with development and IT teams.
  • Participate in deployment and configuration of the application as needed.
  • Participate in deployment meetings and consult with the team to refine, test, and debug programs to meet technical needs.
  • Understand servers and databases and related architecture requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved and maintained through high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop proof of concepts and propose solutions to architecture and tech leads.
  • Support operationally critical environment, using monitoring tools and scripts, data feeds and associated scripts, research, and analysis of production issues, capturing logging.
  • Assist in server patching activities. Participate in application load tests and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Ensure ability to troubleshoot SOA, network, WAF/firewall, load balancer, HTTP/HTTPS communication, and browser clients as it pertains to a large-scale web application environment.
  • Orchestrate and automate CICD pipelines, build & release, configuration management, continuous deployments, and DevOps engineering with various DevOps tools.
  • Create and maintain DSL scripts used as pipelines in Jenkins to successfully implement CICD process by integrating tools like git, GitLab, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, Linux, Ansible, OpenShift, AWS-ROSA and WebSphere/JBoss application servers to build and deploy applications.
  • Automate and deploy enterprise applications on PaaS OpenShift platform and other J2EE containers like WebSphere, JBoss servers using Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Maven, Nexus, Linux, windows, and GitLab. Telecommuting permitted 2-3 days per week.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and Computing, Biotechnology, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in information technology.

Must have work experience in:

  • Deployment containers - Openshift, Websphere, and Jboss;
  • DevOps tools - Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Maven, Gradle, Nexus, Linux, Sonar, and GitLab;
  • Software development - Programming, testing, debugging, identifying, and resolving software problems and load testing;
  • System maintenance and upgrades including Linux server file system partitions, storage, performance analytics, reporting, patching, and installation of new software; and
  • Monitoring system and application health checks for code diagnostics.
