Oracle Database Specialist

Location: Baltimore, MD

Job Description

  • Must have six (6) years of experience in DBMS systems analysis and programming.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in using Oracle Database Management technologies, application design and experience with DBMS internals.
  • Experience with Oracle Engineered Systems and their related technologies (Specifically Oracle Data Appliance)
  • Oracle Certified Associate/ Master (OCA or OCM) or related certifications.
  • In-Depth knowledge and experience in Oracle Linux.
  • Experience with Oracle 12c and Oracle 19c to include Oracle Multi-tenancy as well as the management and maintenance of Container and Pluggable databases .
  • Experience with any of the following: Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), RMAN, Oracle Audit Logs, Oracle TDE, Oracle database migration methodologies including data pump export/import, cloning, RMAN transportable tablespaces, and cross-platform migration.
  • A qualified resource will possess strong knowledge of Oracle Engineered Systems, Oracle Linux, and Oracle Databases.
  • Candidate will ensure the availability and stability of the Oracle database environment to support mission-critical applications maintained by the state government.
  • The candidate will provide enterprise-wide, documented server support for Test, Development, Staging, and Production Oracle servers at the direction of his/her supervisor and will follow MSP s standard operating procedures.
  • Must be capable of providing highly technical expertise and support in the use of DBMS. Must be able to evaluate and recommend available DBMS products to support validated user requirements. Defines file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.
  • The candidate will monitor and optimize the performance of the databases and database servers, maintain and monitor Data Guard, plan for backup and recovery of databases, and ensure availability of the Oracle Database Appliance system (ODA) across all environments.
