Job Details

Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company is seeking an RF Test Engineer to support programs at the Reese National Security Complex (RNSC) in Lubbock, TX. Individuals in this role will be responsible for the development and execution of radio frequency (RF) test procedures at RNSC. In this role, the RF Test Engineer is expected to contribute to the development and execution of RF test procedures for the qualification of systems to industry and MIL-SPEC standards. Compliance with FCC and FAA regulations is critical to this role. The ideal candidate has knowledge and experience with RF systems, electromagnetics (EM), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and RF and EMC test equipment and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and execution of RF and EMC test, characterization, and qualification procedures consistent with industry standards (e.g. IEEE and IEC), federal standards (e.g. FCC and FAA), and defense standards (e.g. MIL-STD)
  • Participate in the design and development of RF, EM/EMC testing capabilities at the RNSC, including the development of an anechoic test facility, and large-scale RF, EM/EMC test platforms
  • Operate and maintain RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and power meters
  • Perform RF and EM/EMC measurements including, but not limited to, S-parameters, shielding efficacy, and electromagnetic vulnerability
  • Manage and coordinate RF spectrum usage for airfield systems
  • Help maintain accurate records of frequency assignments, licenses, and operational parameters
  • Develop and implement spectrum management policies and procedures tailored to airfield operations

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
  • ship with the ability to obtain a clearance
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing test plans for RF systems
  • Ability to present technical plans, reports, and presentations to a broad audience including technical and nontechnical stakeholders

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience applying relevant RF/EMC standards such as IEEE C63.x, IEC 61000-4, FCC Part 15/87, FAA/RTCA DO-160, and MIL-STD-461/464 in test planning and execution
  • Hands-on familiarity with RF compliance, spectrum authorization, and qualification testing to industry, federal, and defense standards
  • Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
