Java Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Smithfield, RI that is seeking a Java Software Engineer.

Responsibilities:
* Use experience to help design and implement efficient technology solutions
* Adjust priority of items based on business value
* Be a resource multiplier by being able to provide technical guidance to other engineers while maintaining your own work list
* Recognize technology trends in the cloud space and assist in adopting new solutions as offered by cloud service providers
* Formulating and driving the tactical and strategic technology direction of the Defined Benefits business for some of the firm's most strategic workplace clients
* Leveraging an in-depth understanding of the business to propose and deliver solutions to increase employer and employee satisfaction around their Defined Benefits experience
* Proposing and delivering strategic efficiency and scale technology solutions
* Maintaining an atmosphere of collaboration, openness and approachability every day
How Your Work Impacts the Organization

REQUIREMENTS:
* 4+ years of experience in Java application development using Java, J2EE, Spring and JavaScript
* Excellent understanding of REST concepts and developing REST API's using Spring boot with Tomcat
* Good experience in database tools and development using PL/SQL
* Strong foundation in UI development using Angular, React, JavaScript
* Experience in tools and methods to enable efficiency, performance and agility through automating DevOps processes (Maven, Jenkins, Stash)
* Knowledge of public/private cloud capabilities including compute, storage, database
* Experience in handling C++ applications is a plus
* An excellent team player who can come and contribute in a dynamic environment
* Expertise to drive meaningful technical discussions, arbitrate and recommend an optimal path forward
* Passion for technology and is experienced with the tools of the trade including a variety of modern programming languages and frameworks
* Ability to communicate and collaborate with supporting teams to get things done in an expedited manner
* Ability to solve real-life problems, design modern solutions for legacy applications
* Pro-actively taking ownership of situations, people and technology
* Show strong judgment and leadership across a multitude of situations and drive decision making taking all factors into account

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
