Networking Engineer

Seeking an Onsite Network Engineer in Elizabeth NJ to support and maintain the networking infrastructure for terminal operations that work 24/7. Work with Regional and Global teams to execute on the modernization, standardization, and security agenda of the networking infrastructure.

Job Duties -Job content & execution

- Support and maintain the networking environment on both the IT and OT layers of the network.

- Implement and execute remote network monitoring via standard monitoring practices.

- Resolve networking incidents within agreed SLA's

- Implement change on networking environment without unplanned service interruption

- Ensure optimum health and operation of networking systems and environment

- Ensure full compliance to cyber security configurations and standards

- Provide 7x24 robust, secure and cost-efficient networking infrastructure services by eliminating

single points of failure and legacy equipment.

- Keep up to date with new networking technologies and how this enables new industrial

technologies inclusive of virtual switching.

Accountable For

- 7x24 availability of terminal networks

- Incident resolution within agreed SLA's via SNOW alerting / INC notification.

- First time right change management, without causing unplanned network interruptions

- Ensuring secure networking configurations in line with APMT standards and policies per IT

Directors policies.

- Execution of global networking change programs as needed.

- Keep monitoring tools updated to provide full visibility to IT Operations and the business.

- Work with other departments to troubleshoot communication issues from cranes and CHE.

- Providing review of impact of new networking and industrial technology implementations on

business functionality.

- Creating and maintaining network flow diagrams for all business applications that meet

industry standards.

- Using Service Now for incidents or network requests within local IT SLAs.

Job Requirements -Parameters for success

- Service delivery - ensure network availability, performance, scalability, incident & problem

management, SLA compliance

- Compliance - ensure compliance to cyber security, data policies and controls

- Ensure Network Infrastructure availability at 99.5%

- Being able to work with different operational departments independently to ensure applications

perform as expected.

Critical competencies

- Shift work is needed. Rotation every 8 weeks (manager discretionary)

- In-depth knowledge and expertise on industry standard networking technologies and standards

- Experience in designing and implementing secure network solutions (WLAN/LAN/WAN)

- Wireshark

- CCNA minimum with 4 years experience.

- Use of monitoring tool such as Cisco Prime, Solarwinds or similar

- Ability to work with vendors to test / clean fiber

- History of providing architectural review/planning of network physical topology.

- Ability to troubleshoot wireless networks (802.11 & Private LTE) using Airmagnet or similar.

- Ability to maintain network flow diagrams for all business applications

- Ability to multitask between different network related projects and incidents
