Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency in Swift, Python, Objective C, C++ or similar language and common software engineering best practices.
Interest in audio: most of our engineers have advanced degrees in Acoustics, computer science, or an equivalent field (physics, electrical engineering, etc.), but if you've followed a different path to expertise in acoustics that's fine too.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with acoustic measurement or prototyping software like Max MSP, Matlab, or Sound Check.
Background in audio signal processing or music production (digital signal processing, equalization and compression)
Shift details: must be available to be on site for hybrid work schedule 3 days per week or more as needed.
Job Summary:
Come work with the AirPods Experience and Prototyping team in Acoustics Hardware.
We are technically minded audio enthusiasts who design and build new features for AirPods like Transparency, Hearing Health (Hearing Protection, Hearing Test, Hearing Aid), or media personalization.
As a member of the team, you will work along side other engineers to help bring new AirPods features to life. Day-to-day responsibilities include software development, acoustic lab measurements, or prototype tuning.
This role will involve characterization and tuning of Hearing Protection performance of Client audio products.
Work will include working in terminal to flash firmware onto development units, modifying Swift or python code to configure prototype behavior, and some critical listening to verify features are working correctly.
