Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst to join our IT team.
What You'll Do
- Research and understand client business processes and their inter-relationships
- Document and diagram business and system processes and dependencies
- Analyze impacts of tool implementation on agency systems
- Facilitate joint analysis workshops with business units
- Gather and document business and technical requirements as user stories in Azure DevOps
- Manage backlog and work items using Azure DevOps
- Coordinate with Development and QA teams
- Develop test plans and test cases
- Coordinate testing and quality assurance efforts
- Review deliverables for compliance with department standards
What You'll Need:
Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Communication, Information Systems, or related field
- Equivalent work experience may substitute for formal education
- 5+ years in business process and systems analysis
- Proficiency in process mapping/modelling (e.g., Visio)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- SQL query writing and data analysis experience
Preferred:
- Experience with Microsoft DevOps
- Technical experience in IBM Mainframe, Distributed, and Cloud environments
- Familiarity with data migration, change/release management, testing, and QA tools
- Agile project experience and Azure DevOps for managing requirements
Physical Demands:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
