Salary: $175,000.00 USD Annually - $200,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Manager- Security Operations & Engineering.

This position requires you to be local to Maple Shade, NJ and is direct hire.

The Principal Purpose of this position is to develop and maintain a security operations program. The role involves executing initiatives to protect, detect, and respond to security threats and incidents. Key areas of responsibility include technical assessments, security information event monitoring, endpoint security, web security, vulnerability management, network and web protection testing, and threat hunting. Additionally, the position involves maintaining security profiles, inventories, and risk assessments for our companies.

Responsibilities:
  1. Security Operations Program:
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive security operations program.
    • Execute initiatives to protect, detect, and respond to security threats and incidents.
    • Conduct technical assessments and monitor security information events.
    • Implement endpoint security measures.
    • Ensure web security and vulnerability management.
    • Perform network and web protection testing.
    • Engage in threat hunting activities.
  2. Risk Management:
    • Maintain security profiles, inventories, and risk assessments for our companies.
    • Recommend, implement, and maintain tools and security platforms for the security operations program.
    • Advise management on best practices, current trends, and relevant changes in internal and external threats.
    • Present and influence both technical and executive-level management on threats and action plans.
    • Propose changes to policies and procedures to enhance controls and protection levels.
  3. Security Communication and Training:
    • Provide security communication, awareness, and training to various audiences (ranging from junior staff to executive leadership).
  4. Team Management:
    • Manage a team of associates, potentially including onsite and offsite contractors.
    • Oversee 24x7x365 monitoring and response to security events.
    • Responsibilities include hiring, training, conducting performance reviews, and coaching team members.
  5. Investigations and Assessments:
    • Lead technical security and cyber investigations.
    • Plan and execute regular incident response and postmortem exercises.
    • Conduct assessments, including security engineering, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, web protection, external systems protection, and penetration testing.
  6. Metrics and Scorecards:
    • Develop metrics and scorecards to measure risk within the organization.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of SOC (Security Operations Center) associates.
    • Create measurable benchmarks to track progress on addressing deficiencies or areas requiring attention.

Relevant Work Experience:
  • 4-8+ years of advanced Information Security experience.
  • 5-10 years in a supervisor/leadership role.
