Database Operations Engineer

Join a high-impact infrastructure managed services team dedicated to ensuring the optimal performance, security, and availability of large-scale enterprise database systems. This critical role involves administering state-of-the-art database environments, including cutting-edge technologies like Oracle Exadata, advanced AWS Database Services, and modern NoSQL platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Database Engineer to drive best practices in configuration, migration, and troubleshooting, with a clear path to potential full-time conversion after the initial contract period.

Responsibilities: Administer and maintain enterprise database systems to assure optimal application performance and integrity.

Execute core database operations including configuration, migration, upgrade, monitoring, and security compliance.

Perform advanced query tuning, troubleshooting, backup, and recovery for high-availability environments.

Maintain and design state-of-the-art database environments utilizing technologies such as Oracle Exadata, MSSQL Servers, AWS Database Services, Snowflake, and Cassandra.

Bachelor's degree.

5+ years of professional experience supporting large enterprise databases.

Location/time zone requirements if applicable: This is a hybrid position in Houston, TX, requiring 60% onsite work.
