Valiant Solutions is seeking a Network Operations Lead to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team!

The Network Operations Lead is responsible for directing and monitoring information systems operations to ensure the stability, security, and performance of the agency s enterprise network. This position provides technical leadership to the Network Operations Team, ensuring 24x7x365 operational continuity across multiple sites. The Lead oversees the monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of the agency s extensive network infrastructure, spanning over 14,000 devices and ensures compliance. The role requires strong technical acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate complex, interrelated network activities that support critical federal operations.

This position is onsite and can be based in any of the following locations: Springfield, VA, Ashburn, VA, or Orlando, FL.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in a related technical field such as Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Networking, or Telecommunications.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of senior-level networking experience administering enterprise infrastructures in large, complex environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL v3, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE.
  • Deep understanding of networking concepts, infrastructure, and equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and administering enterprise-wide monitoring systems for servers, networking devices, and applications.
  • Proficiency in project management, including knowledge of security and compliance principles.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a record of successfully managing teams and technical projects.
  • ship and the ability to obtain a federal security badge.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage the Network Operations Team to ensure stable, secure, and efficient operation of the agency s network infrastructure.
  • Maintain, support, and optimize key functional areas including network infrastructure, server infrastructure, network security, telecommunications systems, and the service desk.
  • Monitor and manage the performance and reliability of LAN, WAN, Internet, intranet, and wireless systems across multiple facilities.
  • Prioritize and oversee network maintenance, problem resolution, and infrastructure improvement initiatives to maintain 24x7x365 operational readiness.
  • Coordinate and manage testing, troubleshooting, and analysis of network components, ensuring rapid resolution of hardware and software issues.
  • Provide support to end users, operations personnel, and strategic program management to maintain seamless network operations.
  • Ensure effective monitoring and response to hardware, software, and network issues, minimizing downtime and performance degradation.
  • Lead and supervise the Network Management Operations team, setting priorities, establishing procedures, and ensuring all tasks meet contractual timelines and standards.
  • Oversee the management of an enterprise-scale infrastructure exceeding 14,000 devices, including but not limited to:
  • Routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers
  • Wireless LAN controllers and access points
  • WAN optimization tools, video, voice, and cloud technologies
  • Software Defined Networks (SDN), security systems, and emerging technologies
  • Specialized network services (DNS/DHCP, proxy, load balancing, SSL certificates)
  • Cellular, radio, and surveillance equipment
  • Report regularly on operational performance, network health, and issue resolution to program leadership and management.

The salary range for this position is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. It has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, and internal equity. The salary for this role is expected to be in the $90,000 - $130,000 range. Where a candidate falls within the band can be determined based on one or more of the following: skillset, experience level, achievements, education, geographic location, security clearance, involvement in corporate tasks, and other non-discriminatory factors. In addition to the base salary, this role will include benefits as described below.
