We are seeking a mid-level IT Project Manager to lead and oversee smaller-scale projects within a banking environment. This role requires hands-on project management expertise across core banking applications, territory management initiatives, debit card projects, and branch technology deployments (ATMs, ITMs, teller cash recyclers). You will be responsible for end-to-end project lifecycle management, from PMO planning through deployment, monitoring, and closure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Lead budget oversight, assisting teams in securing funding and tracking financials.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure project alignment with business needs.
  • Utilize PM tools like Asana, Aha!, Monday, etc. to drive project execution efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to both Waterfall and Agile project methodology.
  • Collaborate with vendors, managing software licensing, implementation, and testing resourcing.
  • Maintain focus on quality over quantity when coordinating project approvals and decisions.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 3 4 years of IT project management experience in banking (covering application, SDLC, and infrastructure projects).
  • Proven ability to oversee full project lifecycles, particularly within financial institutions.
  • Strong budget management skills, tracking outgoing expenses, licensing, and vendor costs.
  • Familiarity with PM tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Asana, Monday, or Aha!.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing workload efficiently.
  • Experience in Waterfall project management methodology with some Agile familiarity preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid schedule based in Birmingham, AL.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or similar certification
  • Analytical mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, lead decisively, and drive solutions when challenges arise.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience tracking and neutralizing budgets effectively.
