Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team.
Experience in the Railroad industry is must.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in analyzing complex business processes, performing reverse engineering on existing applications, and defining new requirements to support modernization and integration initiatives.
This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, technical teams, and integration partners to ensure successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage deep knowledge of the Rail Road industry to understand operational processes, regulatory requirements, and system dependencies.
- Analyze existing applications and workflows to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Perform reverse engineering to document current state and propose optimized future state solutions.
- Translate findings into clear, actionable requirements for development teams.
- Work closely with business teams to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and requirement review sessions with stakeholders.
- Gather and manage requirements for systems involving multiple integrations (internal and external).
- Ensure compatibility and seamless data flow between integrated applications.
- Create detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, and Use Cases.
- Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
- Recommend industry best practices and standards for requirement management.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Architects, and QA teams to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Support testing phases by validating requirements and assisting in defect triage.
- Conduct impact assessments for proposed changes and integrations.
- Highlight potential risks and mitigation strategies.
- Guide junior analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to bridge gaps effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data exchange formats.
- Experience working in Kanban mode of execution.
- Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, and requirement management platforms.
- Ability to perform reverse engineering and process mapping.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Bachelor s degree in Business, IT, or related field (Master s preferred).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Agile, Kanban and Waterfall methodologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance in Rail Road operations.
- Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools.
