JOB SUMMARY

Primary Purpose of Position

The purpose of the role of this role (Sr. Systems Analyst) is to develop advanced knowledge in Optum Serve’s enterprise application suite and apply business and system knowledge across multiple areas of the technology stack to effectively triage and escalate issues. Assist in monitoring systems and processes. Responsible for working with minimal guidance on assigned processes and systems. Align to a specific Service Area as a multi-skilled, cross-functional team member.

Essential Functions Include

  • Assist team to triage issues and work with software development team to solve issues for assigned systems
  • Update documented solutions to common issues to allow for better triage and support
  • Develop as Subject Matter Expert in several technology areas to the Application Support Team
  • Assist in smaller software initiatives including planning, work breakdown, documentation and systems support and configuration efforts
  • Maintain documentation for systems triage
  • Engage in Sprint software release cycles for testing and communication across business
  • Assist to research and identify patterns to improve overall quality
  • Assist others in application of systems and business knowledge
  • Beginner knowledge of system database and data analytics
  • Engage in Service Area Scrum ceremonies
  • Participate in Application Support OnCall Phone Triage process

Job Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Experience leveraging AI tools in the software development (or product) lifecycle in order to improve quality and efficiency
  • 2+ years of experience related to business analysis, healthcare operations or application architecture
  • Demonstrated knowledge of system applications and functional areas
  • Understanding of complex database structures and relationships
  • Beginning to Intermediate SQL query skills
  • High level of adaptability to changing work environments
  • Must be able to understand business processes that cross many functional operational units
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as attention to detail are essential as are excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Must have the capability to work independently as well as on a team and prioritize projects while meeting critical deadlines
  • Knowledge of Agile / Large Scale Scrum system development methodology
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to present fact-based recommendations in a clear, logical, and concise way
  • Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered
  • This position will support Optum Serve’s performance of a United States (U.S.) Government contract and will require the successful applicant to access and/or process Non-Critical Sensitive information (Personally Identifiable Information [PII]/Protected Health Information [PHI]) from or contained in a U.S.  Government IT system. 
  • To fulfill the data and IT system access requirements for this position, the successful applicant will be required to successfully complete a Trustworthy Determination, which will require the successful applicant to:  1) ==== 2) pass a National Agency Check with law enforcement in order to obtain the access privileges required by the position and 3) pass a Credit Check in order to obtain the access privileges required by the position.

Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS) or other related field with an emphasis in MIS
  • Intermediate knowledge of MedNet or applicable application Configuration
  • Intermediate MedNet or applicable application SQL query skills
  • 2+ years working in Optum Serve’s suite of applications including MedNet
  • Demonstrated successful implementation of small-scale technology projects
  • Experience working as a liaison between IT, internal and external business leads and end user community
  • Experience in analysis, design and implementation of software implementations
  • Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered
