Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks an Associate, Java / Scala Developer in New York, New York
Maintain and support CDS confirmation work stream within internal system Triclear. Serve as the domain expert in credit derivatives confirmation area, with a comprehensive understanding of technical specifications, business flows and trade lifecycle events encompassing both credit and interest rate OTC derivatives products. Work with line users and project teams to gather requirements, understand customer behaviors and their business implications, and convert these insights into high-quality solutions that streamline manual workflows into straight-through-processing (STP), enhancing operational efficiency and fostering business growth. Participate in internal and industry working groups to review and build technology delivery plans to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory reporting requirements across various regimes, including EMIR, CFTC, and JFSA. Seek opportunities for system and architecture enhancement, conducting in-depth analysis of system performance, implementing innovative solutions to optimize workflows and improve efficiency, and playing a key technical role in driving these renovations and improvements. Represent the firm in industry initiatives by engaging in work groups with SteerCo, identifying required changes, and supporting industry testing and go-live, such as the DTCC/MarkitSERV re-platforming TIW DLT project. Collaborate with global teams, communicate across different regions and cultural contexts to ensure seamless coordination and successful project delivery. Support the iteration of backend/frontend services to align with business and technical requirements, including code review, bug fixes, refactoring and production turnovers.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $152,000 and $152,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as an Technology Associate, Software Engineer, Software Developer, or closely related occupation. Requires (5) years of experience with: Java; Spring Framework; Python; C/C++; Shell; SQL; Hazelcast; Kafka; Autosys; Message Queue (MQ); Electronic Records Archives (ERA); .NET Framework; SDLC; SFTP; Redis; and MongoDB.
