Job title: Exclusive API Delivery Lead
Location: Remote Duration: 6+ Months Contract
Strong technical background as a software engineer, ideally with practical experience in both EDI transactions/API build.
We do a lot in the IBM IIB/APIC space. My intent would be to have that individual play more of a senior role, with oversight to ongoing work. There would be a number of different workstream projects going where we wouldn t necessarily be hands on doing the work, but would have ownership of the solution because it integrates with 3rd parties that we own relationships with. So the person needs to be capable of looking at the overall end to end effort where some of these teams are working and help represent my org. Healthcare industry knowledge obviously a plus.
Primary Focus: This role is an API Delivery Lead with deep experience in IBM integration tools (IIB, APIC), EDI standards, and API ecosystems, particularly in healthcare. The person will own integration strategy and delivery, ensure compliance with HIPAA and security standards, and manage complex multi-party integrations without being a day-to-day coder. Oversight and ownership of integration solutions within a healthcare environment, not day-to-day coding.

- Third-Party Integrations
- Experience with vendor platforms like Availity and multi-payer portals.
- Managing 20+ API endpoints for provider data access.

- Understanding of architectural and data flows for secure transactions.
- Additional Nice-to-Haves
- AI/LLM experience (e.g., building language models).

Nature of Work
- Not Hands-On Coding
- Focus on architecture reviews, compliance checks, and solution design.
- Troubleshoot lower environments and oversee testing.
- Parallel Workstreams
- Multiple integration projects running simultaneously.
- Requires strong organizational and leadership skills.
Healthcare Integration Context
- Connecting internal systems (claims, patient data) with external partners (insurance, providers).
