Job Details

Our client, a leading athletic footwear and apparel manufacturing company, is looking for a Product Designer - Specialized 3. This is for an initial duration of 03 months and is located at Beaverton, OR.

Job Title: Product Designer - Specialized 3 Reference ID: 25-07421 Location: Beaverton, OR Duration: 03 months Job Type: Contract (Candidates must be able to work on W2 without VISA sponsorship)

  • Onsite at WHQ - Full 5 days onsite (M-F)!


Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Manufacture molds and parts utilizing CNC and manual machines
  • Perform all secondary operations per standard operation procedures. i.e.. Bead blast, polish, blue off, wash.
  • Working cross functionally on innovation projects
  • Working independently with little to no direction from Supervisor.
  • Program and simulate as directed by manager or department lead.
  • Be a positive member on the team. Be a leader.
  • Research and test new manufacturing ideas, machines, and processes.
  • Attend project kickoff meetings and accurately estimate manufacturing timelines.
  • Written and verbal updates to stakeholders about project status
  • Working cross functionally with labs and engineering to solve project issues.
  • Be coachable.
  • Has developed expertise in a variety of work processes or activities. Independently manufacture all projects with limited information or assistance.
  • Be able to make decisions regarding manufacturing process with favorable outcome.
  • Work closely with team members and cross functionally to continually improve the manufacturing process.

  • As part of the engineering pillar in the Client Footwear lab, we are looking for creative and technical individuals to help bring new footwear concepts to life.
  • Working closely with your cross functional teammates, you will employ your technical skills to determine aesthetic and functional design solutions and help overcome design challenges. Highly self-motivated with a solution-oriented approach, you are capable of producing high-quality work on very fast deadlines.

What You Will Work On

  • In a Product Design 3 role, you will design by driving digital creation from ideation to prototype. Deliverables range from digital assets to physical samples.
  • You will work closely with these other teams to produce a successful deliverable. Additionally, you will build and present assets that effectively communicate design intent to a variety of audiences such as product designers, developers, engineers, technicians, mold makers, and more.

Who You Will Work With

  • In the Product Design 3 role, you will be working on a team under the Client Footwear Lab organization on early footwear concepts and ideas for various teams across global footwear.
  • These teams can range from Client innovation or performance and lifestyle teams within the Fields of Play.

What You Bring

  • 7 - 10 years work experience CNC machinist / programming
  • Familiar with Okuma, Makino, DMG Mori CNC machines
  • Flexible, self-starter, motivated to continually learn and grow
  • Innovative mindset, creative problem solver, and process oriented
  • Understanding of mold making, is a plus
  • Possess a mechanical approach and working in a hands-on environment
  • Effective project management skills
  • Passion for making; technical confidence working with your hands
  • Versatile, detail-oriented, problem-solving skills, and comfort operating in ambiguity
  • Ability to drive collaboration and communication within a complex group
